Finally he has taken a liking to one of the plush toys. It's a small dog that a lady in my ward gave him. He named it "Nine." I have no idea how that name came to be, but there's no question that Nine is the dog's name. It's interesting that my boys have both created names using numbers ,8A and now Nine. Maybe they're going to math nerds like their mom! :)
Every day for nap or bedtime he goes in his room and has to find Nine. The dog is small so sometimes it's hard to find, especially if Salem or Oaklen took it out of Oaklen's room. The sleep routine is that he holds Nine and I get to hold the blanket and another dog that Aunt Rachel gave him. He named that one "Dog." Most of the time the whole routine is cute but sometimes he doesn't like the way I'm holding the blanket or Dog and gets mad. He's showing his independence more and more. I'm now anticipating the "terrible twos."
But, after he's asleep, all my frustrations are alleviated with just one look at his cute sleeping face. Ahh...
