Vacation in Delta

Last weekend we went to Delta for a fun family vacation. Darrell's sister's in-laws live there so we went with Darrell's immediate family. The house is right on the shore of the reservoir. We slept in a tent (thanks John!) in their yard, went boating and played in the water & sand for 3 days.

This was a great way to celebrate Darrell's 30th birthday. I made a cake there and we celebrated with all 30 candles in the cake but we had a hard time lighting them because of the breeze.

Here are some pictures. We should have gathered for a big group picture but we didn't.

20 years later

When I went to Mt. Vernon in February I had to get a picture while sitting on those green chairs on the back porch overlooking the Potomac River. I remembered, when I was 8, that I sat there and had a picture taken. It was in July and VERY hot! Here's a little photoshop magic to show how much I've aged! :)

S !

Oaklen's first letter to learn has been S. I'm not exactly sure how or why he learned S first, but whenever I have a writing utensil in my hand and a paper, he always wants me to write an S. He sees S's all over the place, when we're in the car he'll see an S on a truck driving by, he'll point out the S's in the grocery store, or on a poster or a book.

Salem of course likes S too since it's the first letter of his name. Recently he learned to write S's the correct way as I mentioned in another post about his pottery.

When Darrell and I were in DC, we went to the top of the Washington Monument. There were letters on the ground to point to North, South, East, and West. I had to get a picture next to the S, just for my boys.

Greetings from DC

Darrell and I are here in Maryland visiting my Aunt and family. It's our 6th wedding anniversary. We have been able to go to the Washington DC temple, Mount Vernon, and a little bit of Washington DC so far. It's been fun! My kiddies are with their grandparents so we miss them, but it's been great to get away. Here are a few pics to enjoy...

Darrell resting as we're sitting in the relaxing first class area of the plane. My step-sis Jill got us buddy passes and we were lucky enough to even be in first class, thank you! :)

Darrell and I outside Washington DC temple. It was rainy that day, but the temple was beautiful. I think this is the first one that I've been inside of, outside of Utah.

Darrell was trying to get a nice picture of the temple and I surprisingly jumped up to be in the picture. "Aspire higher..."

My Aunt & Uncle took us out to eat for our anniversary to the Cheesecake factory. It was great!
